Guilin, its name means the forest of Osmanthus, is located in the northeast of GuangXi province (highlighted in red on the map). Famous for its unique mountains and scenery, it is one of the most traveled cities in China. The history of Guilin dates back to 314 B.C. For the past 1000 years, Guilin’s landscape has been the inspiration and subject for many famous poets and artists.
