When I was growing up in Long Island, I remember my father bringing home breakfast on Sundays. We lived in a Jewish area of Long Island, so sometimes breakfast on Sunday would consist of Bagels, Lox, Sable, Matza, Blintzes etc…these are my favorite childhood memories, and that is why I enjoy Murray’s Bagel.

At Murray’s they call a Lox and Sable on plain bagel a Rivington Street Sandwich. It consists of Nova Scotia Lox, Sable with plain cream cheese, tomato and onion. Simply having a bagel with cream cheese will suffice but I had to have my fix of Lox and Sable today. As I took my first bite, I could feel the perfectly made, chewy and crispy bagel,  mixed with the milky cream cheese, followed by a subtle taste of the oily and salty Sable & Lox, then the crunchy onions and sweet tomatoes gave it the perfect finishing kick. It was incredible and reminded me of the time, when I was little,  making my own version of the “Rivington Street Sandwich” at the dining table. It didn’t quite taste the same but what sweet memories!

If you are in the mood for some bagels you just can’t go wrong with Murray’s bagels.
