Spondi restaurant in Pangrati Athens is a 2 Michelin star restaurant and a member of Relais & Chateaux. Since it’s opening in 1996, it has became a landmark in Athens as one of the top (if not the top) restaurants to dine. It is around 150 -200 euros a head. It was voted best restaurant in Athens from 2007-2011 and for very good reasons.
The decor is unique and reminiscent of a brick stone cellar during the winter, and in the summer, you can sit outside in the lovely garden. The food is exquisite and you can taste every layer of perfume as you take a bite. I love the fact that instead of getting a bottle of wine, the sommelier chooses a glass of wine to suit each dish. The service is top notch and old school with no snobbery, unlike many other Michelin star restaurants I have eaten before. It’s a super must if you have deep pockets!!!
