What hasn’t been said about L’ATELIER de Joël Robuchon Hong Kong already? Well if you didn’t know, it’s the one and only L’Atelier that has 3 Michelin stars.

I have tried the L’Atelier in New York City, which has 2 Michelin stars and now I am trying the Hong Kong branch. What is the difference, well from the moment I walked into the Hong Kong branch, I noticed that the decor is about the same as the NYC version. The ambiance and service is very similar,  which is excellent by the way.  As I sit on the counter of the restaurant I am presented the menu, and to my relief they offer my favorite item here; the Foie Gras mini burger. Aside from that I ordered the Foie Gras Confit, Les Escargots (a new addition to the menu but was a bit salty), Homard Artichaut (a beautiful and colorful presentation of lobster salad), Beef Tartare, St. Jacque Degustation (scallops), Caille Degustation (quail)  and Le Chocolat to end this feast! After about 3 hours of eating, I still could not understand why this Hong Kong branch received 3 stars and the NYC one received only 2 stars. They both tasted amazing and delicious, maybe NYC deserves an extra star, in my opinion you just cannot go wrong going to either one.
