Antigua is a lovely island, the beaches are wonderful and the views are spectacular. It doesn’t take much to make a restaurant look beautiful here. As for the Water Front Restaurant… well they went in the opposite direction. This new restaurant opened its doors a few months ago and decided that purple velvet sofas are the perfect choice…not! The décor was tacky and did not match the beautiful setting that was set forth in front of us. Thankfully the view was amazing so it distracted our eyes off of those awful looking sofas. To make matters worse, we waited for a long time for a waiter to come and take our order. The menu was written on a black board and the choices were limited but none the less all sounded really promising. (Read on below!)

I know that the lifestyle in tropical islands are slow paced, but our food order literally took forever! Once the appetizers arrived, we had mixed feelings about them. The Ceviche was forgetful but the salmon cake was surprisingly tasty! The time span from appetizer to main course was did not improve. We were so bored of waiting that we decided to bet which dish would come out next, and of course I won! After an agonizing wait time the main courses finally arrived and thankfully it was worth the wait! The scallops were perfectly cooked and it mixed well  with the lentils and the Indian style herbs! Also the grilled Mahi with plantain black beans and the Seared Tuna with Wakame Edamame were moist, packed with flavor and just delicious!

I have to admit that the food was great, the service was beyond terrible and the prices were reasonable. They recently opened, so here’s to hoping the service gets better!
