Woody’s All Natural Burgers & Fries is located in a small quaint town of Cornwall, New York in the Hudson Valley region. (Roughly around 1 hour and 30 minutes from New York City by Car or Train) What sets Woody’s apart from other burger joints? They pride themselves of using all natural ingredients from local area farms, which also helps out the local economy. Eat Everywhere decided to give Woody’s a try. (read on to find out more)
The decor at Woody’s is simple, wooden chairs and tables and a large counter to order your food. It was humble, nice and welcoming, like a country cottage home. After looking at the menu thoroughly we decided to go with the sandwich of the day, The Meatloaf Sandwich and a Cheeseburger with Grilled Onions. (I just can not resist meatloaf!) I dug into the Meatloaf sandwich first, it was moist and full of flavor, exactly how meatloaf should taste. The toasted wheat bread was a nice simple touch, if they used a different type of bread it would have taken away the taste of the meatloaf itself. I enjoyed it thoroughly it’s just how Mom used to make it!
Now onto their main attraction the all natural cheeseburger, it came piping hot with juices flowing on the side. The bun was a soft sesame seed bun which didn’t over power the burger. I took my first bite and was quite surprised. The cheddar cheese was nice and sharp and the purple onions were sauteed nicely (not too soft, not too hard). The burger meat was quite juicy and airy, the only issue I had was with the sauce that was in the burger. I felt the sauce took too much away from the natural flavors of the beef. But don’t get me wrong the quality of the burgers here are pretty good, just maybe less sauce next time. If you are ever in the Hudson Valley area, give Woody’s a try.
